After a very long break from Magic: The Gathering card game, i was back to playing it again when my family (cousins and in-law) got interested to play it again. Previously i only played constructed decks but now we are playing draft which is new to me, my first was a average performance at 4th place out of 5.
Today we played again and surprisingly i so lucky to draft some power cards and they proved themselves to be MVP cards.
These 3 cards helped me to win a stunning 4-0 score and i thot mono-black control is not feasible in draft format, today's game proved me very very wrong but was also very lucky to draft "Life Finale" to clear the board and library of creatures and "Lashwrithe" to pump my creatures big to unleash more poison counters, lastly "Caress of Phyrexia" to finish it beautifully with poison counters, life counters, and unexpectedly depleting the library.
Looking forward for another draft...

It has been a long time since i last blog...haha...just busy for the past 2 years but now i'm finally relaxing. Which is why i finally get to read the books that i've brought over the years, i started to read the 7th book of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which i brought it like 2 years ago?
Anyway, i finally finish reading it at the wee hours of today. It ending is somewhat expected, so i feel that is not too much of a "cliff-hanging" except the part he had to die lah...but like many plots the hero(s) dun die. After reading the book i was hoping that the movie to feature the battle of hogwarts greatly so that i can see lots of "magic" happening if not it will be as boring as part one which i almost fell alseep watching. As a consolation i watch it online...haha...bcos my cousins advised me not to watch the movie.
After the part 2 is shown, i wonder how long do i need to wait for another fantasy film to be shown sia...tat's my favourite genre of movies, next will be superheroes movie which i will have a great time for months or maybe years to come. Tml will be the opening of Thor, it luks damn interesting and after that is green lantern, actually i dun really like green lantern bcos of how he is portrayed in cartoons which i feel he is "useless" among the rest of the superheroes. But the movie seems to be diff so i guess i will have a great time watching it. And not forgetting X-Men, Captain America, Batman, and then they said they are gonna do Justice League...woah!

Recently i chanced upon this book inside a bookshop that sells plenty of books on feng shui, zi wei duo shu, bazi, etc...basically all those new age (chinese) types.
And the title of the book is (translated into english) "Teach you how to become a Feng Shui Master". So amazed that there are publisher and people authored such a book, feeling that this book will entertain me and also bcos the cost of the book is onl $12+. So i brought the book as a form of entertain.
This book takes you thru what a Feng Shui Master needs to know like the different schools of feng shui like San He and San Yuan which includes Xuan Kong Da Gua, Fei Xing (Flying Stars), and Ba Zhai (Eight Mansion). Have gained myself some information on Xuan Kong Da Gua bcos that is the only school that i've yet to study, but after reading it in this book i think i'll skip it cos the usage is not suitable for housing audits unless your house is like the palace lah!
Then it goes thru with what a master should do before, during, and after the audit. Also included are the FAQs of feng shui and the possible cures to some problems.
Upon the end of the book there is ad saying that a 2nd book will be out and is for the professional master...haha! i wonder if i can find the book?
So the questions comes, am i a feng shui master now? Of cos not lah, if like that everyone can become one with just 12 bucks and nobody will pay 1000+ bucks for lessons by acclaimed feng shui masters. Come to think of this, i really cannot understand the reason why people would pay such money to attend these courses whereby they can get it from books. If the knowledge is not on these books and it is really advanced knowledge not so-called advanced then there is reason to go. Which is why i can't persuade myself to go for such courses no matter how much i wanted to have certification, but then in feng shui world certification is nothing as compared to the academic world.
Another thing that i often come across is hearing people had advice from their master to do something, although the principle of it is not wrong but wrong usage. One of the most common i heard is that no matter what they have to facing the most auspicious even when the internal forms are conflicting. Don't these master know the basics that forms supercedes formulas bcos forms are the ones that affects the flow of qi, so no matter how calculations come out good it will not receive the good qi.
Sometimes i wonder if i am already a master in this field, cos there are so many so-called master giving such incorrect advice. Maybe i shld start calling myself a master, or maybe even better a grand master since i'm better than most "masters", or go even higher to call myself great grnd master...hahaha...!
So there's no need to go great lengths to find a master cos there is one just around the corner and that's ME!

Being tortured for days by a tupid ulcer, now that it is recovering........another tupid ulcer has to appear...WTH! Bonjela is useless other den taste good, Watermelon Frost is somewhat useful, do i really have to try the salt rubbing....it sounds so painful!

Daiso has always been a favourite shopping place for me bcos of their everything always $2 but bcos their stuffs are special and many times "limited edition". Another one of my favourite is their "Fun Magic Series" which are magic tricks, below are my collections so far...
No.1 Magically Changing Card
This is numbered 1 in the series but it's package is some what a later design
and it came out in recent years.
No.5 Disappearing Aces
Did not manage to get no.2 to no.4, either they are not available or i've similar tricks before but since i've decided to collect them all i'll not care whether i've anything similar...anyways it is only $2 so can afford to "pai jia".
No.7 Lighting Speed (My own interpretation)
The packaging design is of the earlier design where it is more colorful.
No.10 Teleporting Cards
Somehow i find those of the black packaging has
better tricks than those of the colorful designs.
No.12 Hearts Galore
This is a old trick that has its place in many magic books.
No.13 Color Changing Coins (My interpretation)
Bought this together with no.7.
No.14 Rope With Disappearing Knot
Bought this during my recent shopping spree at Daiso.
No.16 Disappearing Cards
This is a very very old card trick called Princess Card Trick,
have no idea why it is called this name?
No.17 Magical Predictions
i remembered that this is one of the few tricks bought at
Taipei's Daiso when i was there last Oct.
No.20 Spining Predictions (My interpretation)
One of the first 2 i bought for fun.
No.27 Magical Spinning Board (My Interpretation)
This is the other one i first bought.
It is also the only one that i do not know how it works
bcos the intructions on the earlier packaging are all in Japanese.
No.28 Magic Knitting Yarn
A similar trick i first learnt it in my first big book of magic by Mark Wilson.
No.29 Magical Puzzle (My interpretation)
One of the 2 tricks that i've performed for people.
No.33 Bending Spoons
One of the first 2 tricks i bought when this new black packaging came out.
No.35 Magic Coin
One of the only 2 tricks i've so far that has a diffculty of E, which is the hardest.
But this is more diffcult in it's preparations than performing.
Also saw this trick on tv and was surprised to find it at Daiso selling only $2.
No.36 Predict the Fruit
Only can use for 5 times, dun think i'll use it.
No.42 Trick Cards
Similar to one of the famous trick decks "Marked"
No.43 Disappearing Sounds
An earlier packaging but with english intructions,
so can be considered a 2nd edition before the black packaging.
No.44 Levitating Bill
I've a exact trick of this and i think i bought it at $5+ or more from "POW Magic series" which i collect it too until it became unavailable or difficult to find.
No.47 Magic Chain and Ring
My cousin tok to me abt a trick that has amazed him and this was the trick. Another of the only 2 tricks that i've performed in front of people and this has the greatest response.
Very worth it for $2.
No.48 Magic Elevator Cards
Similar to a famous trick deck "Tapered".
No.49 Magical Teleporting Cards
Similar to a very famous deck "Svengali"
No.50 Flower Card
A special card trick bcos it is abt magically changing
a unbloom flower card into a bloomed flower card.
No.51 Amazing Mind Reading Number Trick
Among my collections this has the longest name.
No.52 Lucky Seven of Hearts
This trick has very close relation with maths.
I can't wait for the Daiso at BPP to open in mid Jun, i hoped it will carry the Fun Magic Series bcos i can only find lots of them at IMM. If not i'll need to plan for another shopping spree at Daiso with Sharon again so that she can fulfill her container fetish.
